The year 1997 was marked in the world of watchmaking by the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823). Unanimously recognized as the largest watchmaker of all time, Breguet was born in 1747 in the Swiss city of Neuchatel.
